United Way of the Greater Dayton Area 2001 Community Care Day Fact Sheet
What:
Community Care Day is a major community-wide service event that mobilizes hundreds of volunteers throughout Montgomery, Greene, and Preble County. Volunteers help local nonprofit agencies, funded by United Way, address social problems through volunteer projects.
When:
Community Care Day will be on Wednesday, May 23, 2001. Events and projects to take place between 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Where:
At United Way funded nonprofit agencies throughout Montgomery, Greene, and Preble Counties.
Who:
We need teams of employees from local businesses, organized labor and federal agencies, families, friends, school groups, church organizations, fraternities, sororities, etc. This is a project for everyone, so come join the fun!
Everyone participating will receive a free Community Care Day t-shirt and lunch!
Benefits:
Community Care Day is the spirit of volunteerism at its best! Volunteers get hands-on experience performing service projects at United Way funded agencies to help address local community problems. Volunteers get a first-hand look at the agencies and will get to meet many of the beneficiaries their donations help to support. Lastly, volunteers leave knowing they did something worthwhile that will have a lasting impact on improving our community.
