Armed Forces Emergency Services In times of family emergency, the Red Cross serves as a vital and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies communications link between local families and their loved ones in the Armed Forces.

Disaster Preparedness

o Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with community agencies and organizations involved in disaster response and relief.
o Support community disaster planning and preparedness

o Recruit, train and retain community volunteers to provide disaster relief to victims in our community.
o Develop and update agreements with vendors and shelter site facilities.
o Maintain disaster relief supplies and vehicles needed to support disaster responses.

The Disaster Response program provides relief to victims of the most common disasters, particularly single family fires, in the Dayton Area.

Greene County Emergency Housing The Greene County Emergency Housing Program offers temporary housing and comprehensive social services to intact families who would otherwise face the prospect of becoming homeless.

Health and Safety Services trains lay persons to recognize and respond to life-threatening situations with life-saving skills such as CPR and First Aid.
