What We Do

Community Family Club is an exciting, new Camp Fire USA program for the whole family!

This program is designed to give children a safe place to grow and learn. The club provides meaningful family time while teaching children the importance of giving back to their community. There is a meeting once a month and a field trip or special event once a month. In addition, we recommend an informal activity night and a family take home project each month as well.

All of this family fun costs on $45 per family, per year. Special events and outings may involve an additional fee.

Kid Sense

Kid Sense is a kindergarten-readiness program for youth four to six years old. Youth will improve color an shape recognition, counting ability and knowledge of the alphabet. In addition, Kid Sense emphasizes an increased interest in reading.

A Gift of Giving

A Gift of Giving is a unique service learning program for youth. Through this program, youth "live" the Camp Fire motto of "Give Service" by identifying school, neighborhood or community needs. Youth work together to design and conduct volunteer service projects which respond to these needs.

Young Entrepreneur Program

The Young Entrepreneur Program introduces youth to the world of business. This program is a simulation that allows a group of youth to develop and start their own business. By utilizing "Big World" curriculum, youth learn what a business is and how to obtain funding to start a business. In addition, the youth learn how to price, market, and sell their products. Moreover, youth learn how to count money, make change, and record business expenses and revenue.

After School Enrichment

Weekly after-school enrichment program for children aged 5 to 18 years. Provides children with neighborhood-based "safe havens" during the critical "out-of-school" hours through academic and social enrichment activities, life skills, service learning, leadership, and youth employment.

Developing Assets in Youth

The Camp Fire USA Greater Dayton Area Council's Developing Assets in Youth project is a Targeted Community Based Collaborative of the Montgomery County Department of Job and Family Services. In cooperation with businesses, government and other service organizations, the project provides educational, enrichment, recreational and employment opportunities for youth and their family members.

"I Can Do It"

A course that prepares 2nd and 3rd grade children to handle emergencies and to react safely to potentially dangerous situations that may occur when parents are not readily available.

"I'm Peer Proof"

A 6 hour course for boys and girls. Role playing, games and worksheets are among some of the techniques used to teach children how to identify antisocial behavior, resist peer pressure, and discuss solutions to the problems they face.

"I'm Safe and Sure"

A 6 hour course for boys and girls in grades Pre-K through 2nd grade. Puppets, games, stories, and coloring worksheets are among some of the techniques used to teach children how to keep themselves safe, and how to recognize dangerous situations.

"I'm Taking Care" (Fee)

A 9 hour course for boys and girls 5th grade and up. Puzzles, workbooks, brainstorming, and role-playing are among some of the techniques used to help youth become self-reliant and confident, while caring for young children, and to learn the basic skills of babysitting.
