Agency Spotlight

Family Violence Prevention Center of Greene County, a United Way funded agency, moved into its new home on June 12, 2001. The shelter provides immediate safety for victims and assists them in their recovery from the trauma of abuse and aids them in creating non-violent homes and futures.
The new shelter can house 22 mothers and their children at one time, seven more than the previous shelter could hold.
Last year, 156 adults and children were housed for a total of 3,231 shelter days. The new shelter is the result of a $1.5 million capital campaign drive. |
