New York City Firefighters Frank Leeb, Joe Vaccaro, and Mike Smithwick visited Valley Elementary in Beavercreek on June 5th to thank students, particularly the third grade, who wrote letters and sent care packages to the fire department in order to keep their spirits up after September 11th.
Rich Weis, 2001 Greene Campaign Chair, and United Way Campaign Associate Bill Flaute presented each of the firefighters with a commemorative patriotic print at a banquet reception with local community leaders. The prints were from a calendar created by Mead-Westvaco that generated $80,000 for the September 11th Fund.
