90 Years of Caring

Thank you to our Challenge Grant Sponors

Thank you to our Challenge Grant Sponsors. These challenge matches have helped secure new employee campaigns and corporate gifts from local companies, increasing the amount of funding that will be invested in our community. As a result, new initiatives and collaboratives are forming to ensure that our community is addressing unmet and emerging needs.

Community initiatives already working in our community:

  • Strong Kids for Strong Communities is bringing together the network of services within the nonprofit community, the faith community and local schools to promote practices and services that will build self-confidence and teach skills and values that will help our children succeed in life.
  • SpiritQuest Martial Arts classes are empowering at-risk youth to develop measurable success in physical, mental and spiritual realms of their lives.
  • The Greene County Fitness Challenge raised awareness about the increasing trend of adult and adolescent obesity and taught families how to live healthier, make good nutritional choices and how to incorporate physical fitness into their daily routine.
  • Kettering C.O.P.S. and Kids Camp enabled 50 under-served youth in Kettering to participate in a free four-day sports camp that focused on helping the children identify and strengthen their unique talents and abilities.
  • PowerNet “Up Against the Wall” Town Hall Meeting facilitated a community discussion regarding the challenges ex-offenders face when re-entering the community and helped dispel myths that act as barriers to these individuals finding success in their new lives.

Challenge Grant Sponsors to date:
