Sample e-mail and voice mail messages

Want to communicate to your employees throughout your United Way campaign but not sure of what to say?    Use the following e-mail and voice mail messages to help you promote the value of giving through United Way and the positive impact it has on the people who receive help 365 days a year – thanks to their donations.  

 

E-Mail Messages

"  Would you like to make a difference and help people in need?   On (date), we will be kicking off (Company's name) 2003 United Way campaign.   By giving through United Way, you help improve your community.   Last year, (company name) raised $(amount) to help local agencies address some of our community's most pressing problems.   This year, we hope to raise even more!   You will be contacted soon with more details.   Thanks in advance for your help!

 

"  You are invited to a(n) (event name) to kickoff (Company's name)'s 2003 United Way campaign.   (Doughnuts, snacks, etc. will be served.)

 

(list date, time and location)

 

Don't miss the opportunity to hear how it's possible for you to help more people in more ways.   You'll get to meet people who have been helped by United Way and hear how your and your neighbor's donations mproved their life.

"  Did you know that there are over 1,400 United Way's across the country and each one is independent from one another?   Your local United Way is governed by a volunteer board of directors and all of the money that is raised in our community stays in our community.   Please make your pledge today.

 

"  Did you know that United Way of the Greater Dayton Area is the largest private provider of health and human services in your community?   We help more people when we give together, rather than alone, through the United Way Community Solutions Fund.   Please make your pledge today.

 

"  Did you know that United Way's strong volunteer force keeps administrative costs extremely low?   Giving through the United Way is the most efficient and effective choice to help the most people in need.   Please make your pledge today.

 

"  Did you know that a diverse group of over 100 community volunteers oversee distribution of contributions raised through the United Way campaign and make the funding decisions based upon community needs and agency accountability standards?   United Way is the most efficient and effective choice to help the most people in need.   Please make your pledge today.

 

"  Did you know that people in need use United Way funded services 365 days a year?   If your family is involved in scouting or if you've taken a CPR course, chances are you've been served by a United Way partner agency.   When you give through United Way's Community Solutions Fund you support a vital network of services.   Please give in a “United Way” and make your pledge today.

"  The $13 you spent at the movies will buy a homeless person in the Miami Valley one night of shelter.

"  The $179 you spent at an amusement park, for a family of four, buys counseling for children who have been abused.

 

"  The $239 you spent for a weekend getaway buys one year of after-school tutoring and enrichment programs for one student.
