Animals

Volunteers are needed to help feed, clean and care for animals. This includes walking and bathing dogs, grooming cats, taking dogs to the dog park, playing with the animals and caring for other animals (including rabbits, guinea pigs and ferrets). A flexible schedule is available everyday.  Volunteers do not have to work with animals that cause them discomfort, such as those they may be allergic to. You and your pet can make a difference in the lives of the terminally ill. By visiting them in their homes, residential facilities and at our inpatient unit, you can add so much to the quality of their lives. A flexible schedule is available. This agency provides opportunities in Butler, Hamilton, Preble, Clermont, Warren and Montgomery Counties.  This agency accepts dogs that are obedient, well groomed with nails filed, have a current shot record and a willingness to share their love. Cats, rabbits and birds must be good-natured, well groomed with nails filed, have a current shot record (if applicable) and also a willingness to share their love. Pet vaccinations must be up to date.  All human companions must go through the agency's 16 hour orientation. TB testing and a background check are also provided.

Parent Leaders facility workshops (with support), talk to other parents at community events and are generally available to other parents as a resource for them as parents try to better their child's education. Regional team leaders partner with staff to represent the association in 15 county region. Regional teams advance the important issues that affect older adults and future generations, such as Social Security, health care and long-term care. Volunteers serve one of several roles: Convenor provides leadership to team members, community organizer coordinates events and spokesperson acts as media representative. Work is performed on as-needed basis from volunteer's community and/or home.  Membership in organization is preferred. Access to email is required.  Training and expense reimbursement is provided.

Membership in organization (for adults ages 50+) is preferred.  Time commitment is flexible and approved expenses are reimbursed. Training begins in late June 2007.

Volunteers needed to assist clients with basic tax questions and complete basic tax returns.  Volunteer should have basic tax knowledge. Volunteers should be friendly, dependable and be comfortable interacting with public. Basic computer skills are required. Must be willing to volunteer 2 - 4 hours per week.  Basic training and certification will be provided to volunteers for this program.
