Dayton, OH, December 20, 2007 - "Keeping the dream alive ... We're taking them back," will be the theme for the 2008 Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration, presented by the Dayton Chapter of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference. The series of events launches with the Emancipation Proclamation Program on January 5 and wraps up with the MLK Presidential Banquet on January 21.
Allen Elijah, Chief Operation Officer and Vice President of Resource Development for United Way of the Greater Dayton Area will serve as the general co-chair for the celebration along with Ginny Strausburg, Executive Director of the DP&L Foundation. Dr. Daniel J. Curran, President of the University of Dayton, and Al Wofford, President and CEO of CDO Technologies, will be this year's honorary co-chairs.
