Hoops for Hope
United Way and UD Basketball Team Up for Our Community
 Dayton, OH, November 15, 2007 - United Way of the Greater Dayton Area and the University of Dayton Men's Basketball are teaming up on Hoops for Hope -- four special game days during the 2007-2008 season. United Way will receive $1 from all walk up ticket sales, and area youth from local schools and nonprofit organizations involved in the Great Kids Great Communities initiative will be special guests at each of the following games:
- Saturday, December 15, 2007 at 7pm.
- Wednesday, December 19, 2007 at 7pm.
- Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at 7pm.
- Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at 7pm.
UD Coach Brian Gregory is serving as the 2007 Honorary Campaign Chair. This year's goal of $12 million will support the network of 84 local nonprofit organizations addressing priority needs in the areas of Positive Youth Development, Financial Stability Leading to Independence, and Health-and Well-Being for Individuals and the Community.
Last year, 236,871 people living in Montgomery, Greene and Preble Counties were helped by a United Way funded program -- over 22,000 more than the year before.
