Join Hands Miami Valley
A Partnership for Make a Difference Day
Join Hands Miami Valley, a partnership for Make a Difference Day, brought together over 760 volunteers throughout the Miami Valley on October 26 and 27. These volunteers tackled 61 community service projects sponsored by local nonprofit organizations, government agencies, faith-based collaboratives and other groups. Volunteers contributed nearly 2,500 hours of service at a value of more than $46,741.
This event served as the Miami Valley's celebration of Make a Difference Day, a national day of engaging members of the community in volunteer efforts.
A new collaborative effort, Join Hands Miami Valley brought together a number of community service partners. Primary partners for 2007 included Chaminade-Julienne High School, Five Rivers MetroParks, Sinclair Community College, Spring Valley Academy, United Way's Volunteer Connection, University of Dayton and Wright State University. |
